Dave is a Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Argent Wealth Management, Inc. He is one of our most seasoned advisors and provides holistic tax and financial advisory services, utilizing his comprehensive technical knowledge of asset allocation models, investment products and strategies, risk management, insurance, option strategies, retirement and gift planning, and income tax planning for high net-worth individuals and their families.
Dave’s career began in the tax division of Arthur Andersen in 1984 providing tax advice to high net-worth individuals and large financial institutions, such as banks and insurance companies. In 1987, Dave assumed responsibility for and organized the financial planning practice in the firm’s Boston office.
In 1992, Dave started The Duchesneau Group, Inc. in Weston, MA, building on his unique concept of a fee-for-services-based business. The Duchesneau Group changed its name to Argent Wealth Management and today, Dave is CEO of Argent Wealth Management.
Dave attended Bryant University from 1977 to 1981 where he earned a BSBA in accounting and he attended Western New England School of Law from 1981 to 1984 where he earned a J. D.
Dave is licensed to practice law in MA and CT. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and he is licensed in MA as a Certified Public Accountant.
Bill has more than 25 years of experience in wealth management for high net worth individuals, families, and foundations. His career began with Touche Ross & Company and continued in private practice before joining Babson Financial Management where he was a vice president. In 1986, Bill co-founded Tax & Financial Advisors which was renamed Pillar Financial in 1998, and then merged with Argent Wealth Management in 2013.
Bill graduated magna cum laude from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. Later he earned his Juris Doctor at Boston College Law School and a LL.M. in Taxation at Boston University. Bill served on both the Northeast-Mid-Atlantic Board of Directors and on the National Board of the National Association Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) and was named one of the 30 most influential members of NAFPA in its 30-year history! He is a member of the Boston Estate Planning Council (BEPC) and served on the Board of Directors twice. Bill was named to Worth Magazine’s list of Top Financial Advisors five times, an award also bestowed on him by Barron’s twice in his career.
Bill enjoys cycling, sailing, skiing and is an active volunteer for charitable organizations. He is a proud member of the Dana Farber Flames Pan Mass Challenge team and serves as a Director and Treasurer of EV Kids, which provides tutoring for at risk youth in grades 4-12 and a college success program to help them stay on track. He also served on the Board of Directors and as Commodore of the Winchester Boat Club and as a member of the Winchester, MA Retirement Board.
As a Managing Director of Argent Wealth Management, Rich provides comprehensive tax, investment and financial advisory services tailored to the specific needs of high net worth individuals. He also serves as Argent’s Chief Compliance Officer. He is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and has a Series 65 securities license which enables him to act as an investment advisor.
Rich began his career in the tax division of Deloitte & Touche in Boston, MA, focusing on providing tax services to closely-held businesses, high net-worth individuals and public companies. He spent a significant amount of time on the firm’s national, state, and local tax groups as well as on employee benefits plans. In 1991, Rich went to CML Group, Inc., a public company where he served as the Vice President of Taxes and in-house counsel. Rich joined Argent in 1999.
Rich received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the State University of New York at Albany. He earned his JD from New England School of Law and a L.L.M. in Taxation from Boston University School of Law. He previously served as President of the Medway Foundation for Education, a not-for-profit organization charged with raising capital to fund innovative, educational projects throughout the public schools in Medway, MA. He is also an active member of the Directors Club of the New England Home for Little Wanderers where he volunteers his time, provides mentoring and participates in activities for the children.
Rich enjoys spending time at his lake house, boating, skiing, golf and music. He has two children, Ryan and Emma.
Dave has over 30 years of experience in investment management, working in both the wealth and institutional asset management arenas. Most recently, Dave was the President and Chief Market Strategist for Braver Wealth Management and Braver Capital Management of Needham, MA. During Dave’s eight-year leadership of Braver the firm grew 20% per year, launched numerous investment strategies to better serve the needs of individual investors and launched Braver Capital Management to serve the investment needs of investment advisors nationally. Prior to joining Braver in 2008, he led the Private Investment Management group for Lee Munder Investments Ltd., overseeing roughly $1.5 billion for individuals, families and small institutions, and served as Portfolio Manager and analyst for a globally diversified equity product, Global Multi Cap, which he created. In addition, he helped manage the firm’s Large Cap Growth equity portfolio. Dave’s prior experience includes portfolio management and security research roles at Babson Capital, Bingham Legg Advisers, Congress Asset Management and Mellon Bank (The Boston Company).
Dave holds a B.S. in accounting from Bentley College as well as an M.S. in finance from Boston College. He earned his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1996 and is a member of the CFA Institute and the Boston Security Analysts Society.
Jerry is primarily responsible for the investment and asset allocation strategies for high net worth clients and institutional accounts. He selects investment managers across the entire spectrum of asset classes including equity and fixed income mutual funds money managers, hedge funds and private equity investments.
Jerry’s more than 25 years of investment experience includes his position as Principal and Head of Tax-Exempt Fixed Income for the Vanguard Group of Investment Companies. Before joining Argent Wealth Management, he was the Senior Investment Strategist of Putnam Investments and Chief Investment Officer of Tax-Exempt Fixed Income. He was co-chairman of the Putnam’s Capital Market’s committee, Chairman of the Interest Rate Committee, and co-author of the quarterly Capital Markets Report. Jerry has managed numerous mutual funds at both Putnam and Vanguard and has received the Lipper #1Fund Ranking eight times!
Jerry earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Jerry serves as a Board Member of Career Collaborative and as a member of the Investment Committees for Pine Street Inn and the Inner-City Scholarship Foundation.
Matt is Argent’s Co-Chief Investment Officer (Co-CIO). Matt joined Argent in 2011 as an Analyst and became Director of Investment Research in 2013. In 2017 Matt was named Co-CIO, leading all aspects of Argent’s investment programs and processes. This includes setting the direction and oversight of internal and external asset allocation strategies, equity strategies, fixed income strategies, and private equity and private real estate investments. Matt is also the Portfolio Manager of Argent’s Global Value Stock Strategy and Hedge Fund Strategy.
Matt joined Argent after graduating summa cum laude (top 5% of class) from Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College where he also received The Student Leadership Award. Matt completed all three levels of the CFA program in 2011. The CFA Designation is globally recognized as the highest set of credentials in the investment management industry. In 2017 Matt completed the Investment Management Workshop at Harvard Business School (HBS). Started in 1968, this selective executive education program brings together leading HBS faculty with leading investment executives from around the world and focuses on investment and business strategy.
At Babson Matt was selected to help manage Babson’s Endowment, specializing in healthcare stocks. During this time Matt worked closely with the head of this program who was the former Head of U.S. Equity Research at Fidelity and a disciple of Peter Lynch. Matt received his B.A. from Wheaton College where he was a First Team All-New England soccer player and helped lead the team to a final four appearance in 2003. After graduating in 2005 Matt worked with his grandfather, Louis Sapir, an esteemed disciple of Benjamin Graham, the “father” of value investing, before attending Olin.
Joe is head of Sales and Marketing for Argent Wealth Management. Since 2010 he has been responsible for overseeing all new business development activities. Joe brings a wealth of experience in the high net worth and institutional markets.
Prior to joining Argent Wealth Management, Joe managed the US office for Punter Southall and Company, an investment and actuarial consulting firm in the UK. Joe has been managing client relationships for over 30 years and has been in the investment management business since 1986. He has worked with BankBoston, American Express, The Boston Company, Eastern Bank, and Fidelity Investments with varying investment, management, client service and new business development responsibilities.
Joe earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Fairfield University in Fairfield, CT. He is a member of the Boston Estate Planning Council.
Joe is married and has three children. He enjoys sports, traveling, reading, and spending time with his family.
Inez has been with the firm since 2001and is responsible for keeping the office running smoothly. She was born and raised in Santa Barbara and Santa Maria in the Azores, Portugal. She attended Northeastern University in Boston and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management. Inez is a member of the Advent Users Group and loves cooking and spending her time doing “anything outdoors,” including walking and gardening.
